Compatibilities in astrology?! An example. (1 of 4)

I’ve been asked about a previous thought regarding my “perfect compatibility theme,” which was generated and tested in simulations and statistical approximations, and to point out some details and their consequences.

Understanding the astrological compatibility theme, technically known as Love Synastry, serves primarily to analyze how the birth charts of two people interact with each other, offering a deep understanding of the dynamics of a relationship. In this case, the result is quite different from the usual, as it doesn’t just rely on “basic astrological readings,” but all possible correlations and aspects and their consequences are analyzed.

I remind you that in the project, positions were calculated for every day from 1960 to 2005, with a sweep of MGRS grids of 100km, then eliminating deserts, oceans, and dense forests.

Here are the main uses of this study:

> Understanding Affinities and Challenges: Synastry compares sun signs, moon signs, ascendants, and astrological houses to reveal where the couple easily connects and where tensions may arise.

> Improving Coexistence: It helps to understand what strengthens and what challenges the relationship, allowing the couple to consciously work to balance differences.

> Going Beyond Chemistry: The detailed analysis allows you to overcome the superficial view of sun signs and delve into deeper energetic connections.

> Self-Knowledge: It helps you better understand how you behave in relationships and what type of partnership is most compatible with your energy.

> Guide, Not Prediction: Synastry does not determine whether a relationship will work or not, nor does it predict the future, but it acts as a guide to a healthier bond. Astrological compatibility (or synastry) is, therefore, a tool for self-knowledge and relationship management, which, by analyzing natal charts, helps to understand the dynamics of attraction, affinity, and possible tensions.

The goal is to highlight certain characteristics that, with due attention and dialogue, can encourage or mitigate the potential consequences of these issues.

In my theoretical example (the other person has: Sun in Aquarius, Ascendant in Gemini, and Moon in Sagittarius), from my point of view, compatibility and complementarity in terms of characteristics will not be mirror images of each other. Let’s see:

Ascendant: Virgo with a Gemini woman:

The compatibility between an ascendant in Virgo and an ascendant in Scorpio is based on the common rulership of Mercury, which generates a strong mental, communicative, and adaptable connection, both being mutable signs. This combination unites the practicality of earth (Virgo) with the agility of water (Scorpio), focusing on logical solutions, organization, and constant learning, although they may be critical or restless.

Strengths of Compatibility:

> Intellectual Connection: Both ascendants are governed by Mercury, facilitating dialogue, information exchange, and mutual understanding.

> Adaptability (Mutable Modality): Virgo and Scorpio are flexible and able to adjust to changes, which helps in solving problems together.

> Focus and Action: While the Scorpio ascendant brings creativity and ideas, the Virgo ascendant executes with organization and meticulousness, creating an efficient partnership.

> Objectivity: Both tend to be rational, preferring logical conversations to intense emotional displays.

Possible Challenges:

> Restlessness: The dual rulership of Mercury can generate excessive thoughts, anxiety, and difficulty relaxing.

> Excessive Criticism: Virgo can be perfectionistic, while Scorpio can be superficial or inconsistent, generating friction if one criticizes too much and the other is irresponsible.

In short, it is a dynamic combination where the agile mind of Scorpio meets the structure of Virgo, being excellent for friendships, work, and relationships that value intellectual development and planning.

Result: It’s a combination that has everything to be incredible if there’s adaptation, but it requires effort to balance one person’s need for structure with the other’s desire for freedom.

Key Aspects (or Fundamental Aspects): There are 1 or 2 that are usually critical to compatibility and the relationship, in this case 2:

Sun in Sagittarius 9°49′ Conjunction (0°21′) Exact Aspect Pluto in Sagittarius 10°11′
This aspect suggests the possibility of unstable relationships. The combination of the dark motivations of the Pluto partner’s subconscious and the light of the Sun partner creates passionate extremes. Everything that is best and worst is being tested in all matters. The Sun can transform Pluto because of its light, and Pluto can take the Sun to depths whose existence the Sun never knew. The source of truth is flowing from the well, leading to the denial of the initial possibility and guaranteeing ultra-stable relationships.

Saturn Aquarius 7°04′ Conjunction (4°32′) Neptune Aquarius 2°31′
This interaction can be, on the one hand. A great spiritual and/or creative discovery, or, on the other hand, a tedious and frustrating dead end. One of you approaches things from a pragmatic, materialistic, and logical point of view, while the other is inspired by something idealistic, spiritual, and mystical. It seems that one of you is an architect with a vision of something wonderful that you want to build, and the other is a builder with the resources necessary to carry out the project. If your ideas and skills are connected, the relationship will be full of harmony, understanding, and cooperation. However, if the builder thinks the architect is just a big dreamer, or if the architect considers the builder limited and unimaginative, they may end up stagnating.

Examples of “Planets” and “houses” (plus asteroids and virtual points):

Sun: Sagittarius and Aquarius.
Both are dedicated to pursuing their passions and supporting each other. Disagreements are rare in this pair, and there’s a good chance they can form a long-term relationship. A Sagittarius man will accept an eccentric Aquarius woman as she is, and she will enjoy his adventurous and impulsive side.

Moon: Aquarius and Scorpio woman:
The compatibility between the Moon in Aquarius and the Moon in Scorpio is excellent, based on valuing freedom, independence, and emotional adventure. Both avoid neediness and drama, creating a light, visionary relationship with a strong friendship, ideal for those seeking partnership without suffocation.

> Independence: Both signs hate demands and need personal space to breathe.

> Adventure and Diversity: Sagittarius brings optimism and a desire to explore, while Aquarius brings innovation and original ideas, making the routine dynamic.

> Intellectual Connection: Communication flows well, focusing on ideals, learning, and new horizons.

> “Free-spirited” Mentality: It is one of the most libertarian combinations of the zodiac, working well without traditional rules.

> Coldness or Impulsiveness: Sagittarius is impulsive and Aquarius is rational; they may have difficulty dealing with emotional crises that require extreme sensitivity.

The positions of the Sun and Moon are exchanged by the two elements:
This is a rare case that will imply the strengthening of the relationship and, from the outset, a strong and constant mutual attraction, promoting a strong long-term relationship from the beginning.

Example of aspects:

Possibility of conflict and passion: Sun in Sagittarius 9°49′ Square (4°46′) Venus in Pisces 14°35′
This is one of the most frustrating aspects in astrology. It causes a very strong sexual attraction, and both individuals expect to find in the other what they seek. The person with Venus in the spotlight may have some serious internal problems, which makes them vulnerable. The person with the Sun in the spotlight needs to have the necessary self-knowledge to express their potential, which the person with Venus in the spotlight sees in them. Maturity on both sides is necessary to overcome these difficulties and achieve a complete union.

Possibility of love and easy relationship; Venus in Scorpio 12°14′ Trine (2°21′) Venus in Pisces 14°35′
This is a good aspect for a relationship, as it helps create easy and free communication, since both partners have compatible feelings and similar tastes. With other compatible aspects (and there are), they will be able to develop a strong and lasting relationship or a marriage built on their shared feelings of decency and morality.

Secondary aspect (example): Sun in conjunction with Pluto (0°21′) and Mercury in conjunction with Pluto (3°35′) in Sagittarius:
One person’s identity and mind are deeply fused with the other’s Pluto. It creates a powerful, almost predestined feeling. The person with Pluto transforms the sense of identity and thinking of the person with Sun/Mercury, often through intensity, power dynamics, or shared philosophical/idealistic pursuits. There may be obsession, mutual growth, or issues of control by both.

Types of aspects and quantity found in the simulation, and many are overlapping (example: passion and conflict):

QTY – Type – description (quantities normally checked)

5 – Loving – tender and loving aspect (usually 1-2)

4 – Fundamental – crucial positive aspect in your life and relationship reinforcement (usually 1 to 2).

6 – Passion – initially, this aspect ignites an explosive passion from the start (usually 1 to 2).

4 – Emotional struggle – this aspect brings emotional struggle if not adjusted and moderated by both (usually 4 to 8).

12 – Easy – this aspect brings harmony and total compatibility (usually 2 to 6).

5 – Conflict – this aspect brings conflict/complementarity and needs dialogue and mitigation (usually 4 to 8).

2 – Incompatibility – this aspect requires meditation and adjustment from both, in this case, they are of generational origin (usually 6 to 12).

32 – Secondary, included or only requiring adjustments, of which 26 are (as in the example) positive or strongly reinforcing.

Having 27 highly favorable main aspects (the usual number is quarter) and 26 secondary ones should not be taken for granted, as they need to be worked on, nurtured, and maintained.

Hence the importance of complementarity.

As this example shows, when we want someone who complements us (which creates “struggle” or “conflict”), sincerity, the absence of dogmas (“I can.”, “I want.”, etc.) and dialogue are critical, but will lead to a super-lasting relationship without monotony.

Final observations:

> In my previous experience, working on this topic now, I found 8 incompatibilities, 9 conflicts, and 6 struggles in only the main aspects, without any mitigation, resulting in the predictable outcome and my divorce request.

> These are possibilities, not certainties; it’s merely a guiding principle that, by mitigating or reinforcing them, will lead to a fulfilling relationship.

> Nothing is guaranteed without mutual effort; simply “sleeping in the shade of the banana tree” because of “positive” aspects will not solve anything; on the contrary, it will worsen everything due to a lack of “nourishment.”

> Constant work is necessary, focusing on the other person and not on oneself, always seeking improvements and commitments. Because, however beautiful and perfect someone may be, they can be a perfect match. Even if it’s a rose, there will always be some thorns.

Final note with humor:

Does anyone know a woman with Sun in Aquarius, Ascendant in Scorpio, and Moon in Scorpio? I don’t, but if anyone knows, please let me know.

And don’t forget: The intention of the research and calculation was initially just a mathematical calculation and statistical processing challenge.
