I have mentioned post-human mystical entities several times.
In the esoteric, spiritual, and mystical context, one of the main representations of evolved humans who become mystical entities are the Ascended Masters (or Ascended Beings). They are beings who lived as ordinary humans, went through many incarnations, reached a high level of spiritual evolution, and ascended, transcending the cycle of reincarnations. Now they act as guides, teachers, and protectors of humanity, working in the Light to assist in collective evolution.
What are the Ascended Masters?
They are former humans who have completed their evolutionary journey on Earth.
They have achieved “Ascension”: a state of elevated Christ consciousness, with unconditional love and karmic balance.
They no longer need to reincarnate, but they can manifest or channel teachings, so they are not truly gendered.
They are hierarchically situated between humanity and angels, according to esoteric traditions (such as Theosophy, New Age, and the White Brotherhood).
Current examples of Iberian mysticism:
– Maria de Padilla
Maria de Padilla (or Padilha) was born around 1334 in Seville (or the Palencia region), Spain. She was the great passion and lover (and, according to the king, legitimate wife) of King Pedro I of Castile (also known as Pedro the Cruel). She had great influence over the king, participating in political decisions.
She had four children with him (some legitimized later).
She died young, in 1361. After her death, King Pedro publicly declared that she had been his only true wife, annulling other marriages and recognizing her as posthumous queen. This generated great scandal in the court. She is buried in the Cathedral of Seville, along with King Pedro I.
Mystical Action:
In Latin America, her story blended with African, Indigenous, and European traditions (mainly through Portuguese and Spanish colonizers), transforming her into Pomba Gira Maria Padilha (or Queen Maria Padilha). She is one of the most popular and respected Pombagiras, known as: Queen of the Crossroads, Lady of the Dawn, Lady of Magic.
Representing strong femininity, seduction, lust, pleasure, power, revenge, and love magic. Invoked for love spells, seduction, prosperity, opening paths, and protection (especially for independent or marginalized women). Associated with the colors red and black, cigarettes, drinks, perfumes, and red roses.
> Areas of influence:
Love, passion, seduction, and relationships (unties love knots, attracts passions, works on self-love). Opening paths and crossroads. Protection, justice, and cutting off negative energies. Magic, witchcraft, and transformation (burning the past to be reborn stronger). Connection with the world of the dead (especially in manifestations like Maria Padilha das Almas).
> Spiritual personality: Firm, elegant, direct, just, and wise. Does not tolerate lies, submission, or injustice. Has a cheerful energy, but also serious and dominant. Is seen as a queen, with a haughty posture, penetrating gaze, and striking presence.
> Manifestation: Usually appears as a beautiful, exuberant, sensual woman, dressed in red and black, with seductive features (sometimes with gypsy influences). In the incorporation, she arrives with laughter, swirling dances, charm, and sensuality.
.
– Saint Anthony, better known as Saint Anthony of Lisbon or of Padua:
Was a Portuguese Franciscan friar, priest, theologian, and preacher of the 13th century. He is one of the most popular and venerated saints of the Catholic Church, especially in Portugal.
Key facts about his life:
Baptismal name: Fernando Martins de Bulhões (or Fernando de Bulhões). Birth: Lisbon, Portugal, around August 15, 1195. Death: June 13, 1231, in Arcella (near Padua, Italy), at about 35-36 years old. Canonization: He was canonized in 1232 by Pope Gregory IX, only 11 months after his death — one of the fastest in history. Doctor of the Church: Declared a Doctor of the Church in 1946 by Pope Pius XII, for his great theological contribution.
Mystical action:
Finding lost things — This is the most famous. Devotees turn to him to recover “lost” objects, documents, or even people. Popular devotion says that he helps quickly when invoked with faith.
Marriages and love — Known as the “Matchmaking Saint,” he helps in the search for a good spouse or in the harmony of marriage.
Protection and liberation — Prayers attributed to him are used against evils, dangers, envy, and temptations. The “Brief of Saint Anthony” is a short prayer of protection.
Help for the poor and afflicted — Protector of the needy, he intercedes in difficult and impossible causes.
.
– Saint Cyprian of Antioch (also known as Cyprian the Magician)
Venerated as a saint and martyr in both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, although many historians consider his story more legendary than strictly historical.
Main facts of his life:
Birth and education: He was born around the 3rd century, (approximately 250 AD) in Antioch (in present-day Turkey/Syria), into a wealthy pagan family. From childhood, he was dedicated to pagan cults and trained intensively in occult arts, magic, astrology, divination, and sorcery. He traveled through various centers of ancient knowledge (Egypt, Greece, Chaldea, etc.) to deepen his knowledge, becoming a powerful magician and pagan priest.
Christian life: Baptized, he became a deacon, priest, and then bishop of Antioch. Along with Justina, he converted many pagans. Justina became the superior of a monastery.
Martyrdom: During the persecution of Diocletian, around 304 AD, they were arrested, tortured, and beheaded in Nicomedia (present-day Turkey), along with the martyr Theoctistus. His feast day is celebrated on September 26th.
Mystical action:
Thousands call upon him as a mentor for magic work, undoing curses, and prosperity. Many light black or purple candles for him. He encompasses the entire mystical and knowledge spectrum.
.
Thus, I have indicated examples of three humans who, according to Iberian mysticism, have transcended and remain active; many more exist, more or less known.
In my particular case, I especially like Maria Padilha, both for her story, which is truly interesting and completely different from the usual, and for her mystical actions, which are substantially different from the norm. That is why I usually give her as an example of a post-human entity.
